Today we get to fly down to Scottsdale and celebrate the fact that after his latest scan he is indeed cancer-free. For the next five years we will have checks every six months but are so so thankful he has had victory over this evil disease.
It’s time, to lay by a pool in the sunshine sipping a frosty drink. We get to hang with his brother and wife for a few days. He gets to unplug (maybe?) from work. He’ll get to golf with his brother. I can’t figure out how long it’s been since we’ve gone to Arizona, (one of our favorite spots) but I think it was pre-Covid!
Eating is still a bit of a challenge since things don’t taste the same, but he’ll be happy to take me to some of our favorite restaurants. As you can see from the photo above, food is FUN for a toddler. The day I warmed Dori’s pasta and “let her loose” was quite entertaining. It was definitely time for her to have a bath afterwards. My hope is that Mike will have that same JOY during meals sometime soon.
Tomorrow is Maundy Thursday which Christians acknowledge as the day Jesus had the Last Supper with his disciples and he tried to explain to them that it was time. Time to complete the task set before him by God. Time for him to have victory over sin and death.
If you are reading this and haven’t really had the opportunity to grasp what Easter is all about, I hope and pray that this week God puts someone in your life to help you understand that Jesus died and rose again so we can have eternal life.
Although we’ll miss celebrating Resurrection Sunday with our church family here in the Harbor, we look forward to finding a spot to worship (probably Scottsdale Bible Church.) Last weekend we had an early gathering and egg hunt with our local kids and grandkids. The day after Easter I get to drive up to Sedona to join my two sisters for our second “sister trip!” I haven’t seen my Indiana sisters in a year and a half so it’s time!
However you’re planning to spend your time this Holy week I wish you a wonderful Easter with your family and friends.
He is risen. He is risen indeed.
In His Grip,
Jane xo
